San Stefano Gallery Contemporary Art Space
May 8 - May 22, 2019
Opening: May 8 (Wednesday) 2019, 6:30 pm
On 8th May at the San Stefano Gallery Contemporary Art Space, alongside the opening of the exhibition from Argentina, the project of the awarded by AMATERAS 2015 and 2017 Bulgarian artist Tsveta Petrova will be presented. The idea for this presentation in the avant-garde space is part of the initiation of a cultural dialogue between the two countries.
Tsveta Petrova is a young outstanding artist, captivated by paper art, graphics and the art of books. Her projects are refined and woven with elegance and deep meaning. Here is what the artist has to say about her project:
“Letters to yourself” is an exhibition, that treats exactly these messages. Messages, which are not narrative and don’t rely on story-telling, but rather on symbolic suggestion. The letters we send to others, on which we alone rely. For art as a form of communication which exceeds all language barriers, but at the same time risks remaining misunderstood. For the paper, which remains a pragmatic function to “carry” words and becomes a piece of artwork.
The signs which we send out, on which we rely individually depending on the experience and consciousness that we carry. For the quests, for the questions we ask ourselves… For the personal… For the knowledge of oneself, absolutely necessary before getting to know the other…”.
On May 16 Tsveta will present her work, alongside a workshop for kids.
