The AMATERAS Annual Paper Art Exhibition 2020 will be shown at the Main Hall of San Stefano Gallery. At the official opening – 30th September at 7:00 p.m. – the competition’s jury will present the awards.

The concept of the competition dates back in 2009 as an event for small format works but since 2019 the artworks have changed to bigger scale objects and installations.

At this year’s edition 65 artists from 17 countries are selected, mainly from Germany, Japan and Bulgaria.

In the Contemporary Art Space [The Concrete] can be seen part of the Paper Art Bienial 2020. This section of the festival includes achievements and experimental forms as long as showing offbeat decisions and ideas.

The exhibition focuses on the predominant participation of Bulgarian artists and their colleagues from Japan, South Korea, Poland, Turkey and UK. The movement as visual hint in some of the installations, completes the feeling of airiness and finesse.

Among the interesting ideas in this tendency are unfold by: Anna Boyadzhieva, Manya Vaptsarova, Simeon Panayotov, Marcelle Benhamou (France), Mitsuru Kuroki, Toru Kurita, Haruko Cho, Nobuko Ueda, Mitsue Ito (Japan), Jioung Moon (South Korea), Agneshka Jankowska (Poland), Josephine Coy (UK) etc.

SOFIA PAPER ART FEST is part of the Calendar for cultural events of the capital’s Municipality for 2020.
