In March 2016, BILLA officially launched its jubilee 100th supermarket in Bulgaria. The new store is located in San Stefano Plaza Multifunctional Complex.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Austrian Ambassador H.E. Mr. Roland Hauser, the Ambassador of Greece H.E. Mr. Dimosthenis Stoidis, the Sofia Deputy Mayor for Finance Mr. Doncho Barbalov, the Executive Director of InvestBulgaria Agency Mr. Stamen Yanev and other officials.
“15 years ago, we opened our first supermarket in Bulgaria here in Sofia. Now we are launching again our jubilee 100th store in the capital city,” said Mr. Boyko Sachanski, Managing Director of Billa Bulgaria and host of the opening ceremony.
“Bulgaria remains a viable market for this Austrian supermarket chain. 100 stores have clearly demonstrated that Bulgaria is among the leaders in BILLA’s retail network.This is a success story for both Austrian and Bulgarian business,” emphasized H.E. Mr. Roland Hauser.
“Our attention is focused on foreign investments. In the coming years we are going to make significant efforts to attract investments in Sofia not only in the commercial sector, but also in the spheres of production, services, cutting-edge technologies,” said Mr. Doncho Barbalov, Deputy Mayor of Sofia.
“We have focused our efforts on investments throughout the country. The presence of BILLA at a given place shows that it is worth investing and doing business. I hope this tendency will continue”, stated the Executive Director of InvestBulgaria Agency Mr. Stamen Yanev.
